South Korea’s legendary actor Ahn Sung-ki passed away on the morning of the 5th around 9 a.m., after battling blood cancer. He was 74 years old. Last December 30th, he collapsed at home after choking on food during a meal and was hospitalized in the ICU, but he never regained consciousness.

His agency described him as a true national treasure—an actor who valued dignity and responsibility both on and off screen. Fans and colleagues in the film industry are pouring in with heartfelt condolences.
